MELVIN WEINSTEIN PARKINSON'S FOUNDATION HOSTS POKER 4 PARKINSON'S CASINO NIGHT FUNDRAISER OCTOBER 16, 2010

CELEBRITY GUEST APPEARANCES INCLUDE BRIAN GRANT, FORMER NBA PLAYER, AND SANDRA PARKER, LOCAL WVEC CHANNEL 13 NEWS ANCHOR

Virginia Beach, Va. – Melvin Weinstein Parkinson's Foundation (MWPF) presents Poker 4 Parkinson's on October 16, 2010, at The Renaissance Room, 324 North Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, Va., at 7:00 p.m.

Guests will enjoy food, beverages, casino games, prizes, silent auction and a raffle. To purchase tickets ($60 each guest) call 757.708.2277, email mwpf@verizon.net, or visit www.mwpf.org. Purchase your tickets in advance - they will increase to $100 at the door.

An estimated one million people have been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in the United States and are faced with debilitating physical and emotional challenges. With limited insurance coverage, a substantial portion of medical and related expenses are forced to be paid out of pocket. MWPF is the only organization of its kind that provides direct relief based on the patients' actual and immediate needs.

“We've seen first-hand the difference that assistance, no matter how big or small, can make in keeping an individual more independent and safe,” said Marsha Anthony, co-director of MWPF.

MWPF is a not-for-profit organization that raises money to purchase medical equipment and health supplies for Parkinson's patients to help with the maintenance of safe and healthier living environments.
