OTTERBERFEST - DRINK UP FOR THE ANIMALS - FEATURING JACKNIFE, BLACKBIRD POND AND THE SHOREBREAKERS

If you want to help some animals while you savor your suds, check out:

Ottertoberfest on Saturday at First Landing State Park in Virginia Beach. It benefits the building fund for Wildlife Response Inc.'s rehabilitation center, the only one of its kind in the region. The group cares for injured, orphaned or abandoned wildlife.

There'll be music from Jacknife, Blackbird Pond and The Shorebreakers, and beer from Hoffman Beverage.

Events Family fun and educational events from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. ($10)

Indulge Beer tastings from 4:30 to 9:30 p.m. ($20); all-day fun from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. ($30); food vendors serving all day.
