VBPD 2nd precinct Community Day

The Virginia Beach Police Department’s Second Precinct, in partnership with the Virginia Beach Human Rights Commission and the Second Precinct Citizen’s Advisory Committee, is inviting the community to an open house.

The Open House will be on Saturday, October 22, 2011, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 820 Virginia Beach Boulevard at the Second Precinct.

Captain Patrick Gallagher, Commanding Officer of the Second Precinct, states “It is my hope that members of the community will view the Virginia Beach Police Department and officers from the Second Precinct as their friend and partners in making our entire community a safer place to live, work and visit.”

The public is welcome to take a tour of the building and meet with the officers. There will be several activities and events for all ages to include emergency vehicle tours, kid’s identification kits, door prizes and giveaways (Xbox, Wii, Kindle, Nook and other prizes will be given away).

The Fire Department and EMS will also participate and their facilities will also be open to public tours.  EMS will conduct extracting demonstrations with the “Jaws of Life”.  Two crashed vehicles will be used for this demonstration.  Numerous other City Departments and Private Organizations will participate in the Open House.

This event is free and open to the public.
