Schumann Manfred Overture
Beethoven Violin Concerto
Dvorak Romance in F minor
Dvorak Czech Suite
The passionate musical sounds of the Romantics light up the concert hall. The quick curtain-raiser opening of Schumann's Manfred overture paints an emotional character sketch of Byron's tormented hero, then moves to Dvorak's introspective Romance and his nationalistic Czech Suite concluding with the celestial expanse and poetic power of Beethoven's Violin Concerto, performed by violinist Michael Ludwig in his third appearance with the orchestra.
