Event Description

Shamrockin in Ghent

Friday, March 11, 2011 ~ 6 – 10pm
Colley Avenue in Ghent ~ FREE

Hope House Foundation invites you to celebrate the luck of the Irish at this year’s “Shamrockin in Ghent” on Friday, March 11, 2011 from 6-10 pm, on Colley Avenue in Ghent between Shirley and Gates Avenue. The event is free and open with food and beverages for sale.

Come out and enjoy authentic Irish music from 6:00pm – 7:30pm with The Havers from Williamsburg; then Hampton Roads favorite 80’s show band THE DELOREANS will take the stage from 8:00pm to 10:00pm. The Deloreans have been named “America’s Favorite 80’s Showband!”  Mickey Harte, a 4 time platinum Sony recording artist from Ireland that performs contemporary folk rock and will be joining the line up for Shamrockin’ in Ghent. The celebration will continue into the “wee” hours of the night at Ghent’s popular restaurants and nightspots.

All proceeds benefit Hope House Foundation a local non-profit organization providing supportive living services to adults with developmental disabilities in Hampton Roads. Hope House is the only organization in Virginia that supports adults with developmental disabilities in their own homes.

We encourage you to help us continue this annual St. Patty’s Day tradition and come out and enjoy the sounds and festivities and help us “paint Ghent green!”
