SHAMROCK THE BLOCK AT TOWN CENTER

There is so much to the world of the Celts, it is virtually impossible to celebrate it all in one short afternoon. Still, the Fountain Plaza at the Town Center of Virginia Beach will burst with things Celtic on Saturday afternoon, March 12th as they “Shamrock the Block”. In the ongoing program of free, family-fun programs, Town Center will go green in the best traditions of Saint Patrick with music, dance and fun. Throughout the afternoon there will be face painting, balloon animals, caricatures, puppet shows, fortune telling and even a version of Blarney Castle. Grace O’Malley – The Sea Queen of Connaught (you’ll know her as children’s music favorite Cindy Kays) will be on stage and there will be fiery exclamation points as An Cor Rud – The Reel Thing School of Irish Dance and The Scottish Dance Theater of Virginia bring color and flash to the stage. Highlighting stage performance will be two appearances by the ensemble Celtica, celebrating their inaugural CD release. All events are free and open to the public, as part of the community entertainment program offered by the Town Center of Virginia Beach.
