Fundraising Event at The Bunker to Benefit Fire Victims

When the owners of an Oceanfront bar and eatery heard about a fire that destroyed the home of a Virginia Beach family of five just a few days before Christmas, they immediately sprang into action.

Tom Wilder, Chris Holyfield, and Neil McCanon own The Bunker Brewpub and Cadence Hall at 211 21^st St., Virginia Beach. Their executive chef, John Ferguson, told them about the fire that put all five members of the Pentz family in the hospital. Two of the children remain hospitalized at a burn unit in Boston.

Ferguson says, “When I told my employers about the devastating fire that destroyed my friends’ home, they said, ‘Let’s help’.”  A fundraiser will take place on Friday, December 28, from 3pm to midnight to cover the Pentz family’s expenses. According to Ferguson, a percentage of profits from each meal sold that day will be donated to Steve and Alyssa Pentz and their family.
