Common FAQ's on Pet Insurance (Courtsey of: 24 PetWatch)

1. After signing up my pet, can I still see my regular veterinarian?
Yes. You can use the licensed veterinarian of your choice.

2. How much are the deductibles?
You pay a $50 deductible (unless otherwise noted) per event regardless of the number of trips you need to make to the veterinarian. This deductible is subject to change after the annual renewal of the policy.

3. How much money will I actually get back when I make a claim?
The amount of money that you will get back is determined by three things:
a) the amount of coverage that you have purchased for that specific accident or illness,
b) the deductible on the program that you have chosen and
c) the percentage coverage offered by your program choice.

4. What are my payment options?
For monthly premiums, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover Card or Automatic Deductions from a Checking Account. For annual premiums, we also accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover Card, as well as a check or money order. For all Discover Card payments, please contact our call center. At this time we do not process Discover Card over the web.

5. What if I want to enroll more than one pet?
Each pet receives its own policy. You can use our online enrollment system to enroll all your pets in one convenient process without having to fill out multiple application forms. If you enroll three or more pets you are eligible for a 10% discount per policy. Maximum discount 10% per pet per policy.

6. How do I make a claim?
Mail or fax in a completed one page claim form completed by yourself & your attending veterinarian along with the detailed receipts. Fill out a claim form.

7. What is the $2 Monthly Pay Plan Fee?
Those who pay their premiums on a monthly basis are charged a $2/month fee. No fee applies to those individuals paying with an annual payment method.

8. In what states are programs available?
Our Pet Insurance Programs are available in 49 states and Washington D.C.. Currently not available in Alaska.


9. Who underwrites the programs?
Praetorian Insurance Company, which received the AM Best rating of A- (Excellent) and a Standard & Poor's IFSR of "A" (Strong) , underwrites the program. Praetorian Insurance Company is a member company of the Praetorian Financial Group, Inc. whose ultimate parent is QBE Insurance Group Limited,one of the top 25 largest insurers worldwide.

10. What are your call center hours?
Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 9:00pm Eastern time; Saturday 9:00am to 6:00pm Eastern time.

11. How long will it take for my claim to be paid?
Our mandate is to process your claim within five business days after receiving your completed claims form with original receipts attached.

12. What is the discount and special policy for 24PetWatch microchipped pets?
By registering your pet's microchip information with 24PetWatch identification system, we will give you a 5% discount on any 24PetWatch Pet Insurance Program. (Limit 1 microchipping discount per pet per policy with a maximum discount 10% per pet per policy)
