Event Description

What's poppin', ladies and gents? Ready to forget about that miserable work week? Sit on down; we'll pump you full of plans to find live music and the last legal drug.

If you thought loops were just for rap beats and breakfast cereals, than come get your mind blown at Keagan's Town Center tonight. Steve Forss will be gettin' freaknasty on the guitar, and using his loop pedal to make you think he's got 12 hands. He's also got a great voice and plays a wide variety (request the Eminem song!).

On Friday, head out to Winston's Cafe in Chesapeake to hear The Loud Shapes. These guys formed when they were in college at JMU (GO DUKES!) and have a chilled out, experimental sound. You also get to see the coolest bartender in Hampton Roads, so be sure to tip Yolinda!

If you can't make it out to Chesapeake, go listen to Bigger Dream at South Beach Grill. They're a keyboard-driven cover band and South Beach is a great place to dance!

Saturday come out to the Rebel Marina in Norfolk for the Schooner Virginia Spring Fling featuring Joe Maniscalco & the Two Can Jam Band, a pig roast, and more.

There's also a bunch of good, clean fun to be had at the 8th Annual LRNow Oyster Roast on Saturday. Listen to great music, eat delicious oysters, and help restore and protect the Lynnhaven River. Probably not the best time to go skinny dipping, but it's your world ... we're just living in it.

After all the FUNdraisers Saturday head over to the New Moon Cafe on Holly and party with the "second best" cover band in the world.... Rockstar Parking!

Feelin' a little guilty about Friday and Saturday? Go get your praise on Sunday at the Gospelfest at 17th Street Park! But don't get it twisted - this is urban, contemporary gospel music, so bring your dancin' pants. Feelin' a little guilty about Thursday and Friday? Go get your praise on Saturday at the Gospelfest at 17th Street Park! But don't get it twisted - this is urban, contemporary gospel music, so bring your dancin' pants.

Then, you can end the weekend at HK on the Bay, where Soul Haven Studio will be holding an open mic night with Luke Taylor beginning at 9pm. Come out and participate or watch some of your favorite local musicians play with Luke and a full band.

If you haven't already, please join our sister site NorfolkNightlife.com where you can find all the events in Norfolk, Portsmouth, Chesapeake and Suffolk.

As always, party responsibly and tip well!
