Event Description

For the first time ever, I'm writing the Weekend Update while wearing pants. APRIL FOOLS!!!

Totally got you. Aaaaanyway ...

Tonight, come out to Side Street Cantina for April Fool's Happy Hour all night. In addition to the cheap drinks, there will also be live music from Cheap Thrills Band, who was featured on Oprah! And don't let the name of the event deceive you; it's actually happening.

El Kabong is doing a two-night stint at South Beach Grill this weekend playing super-tasty covers. Which one should you go to? Friday or Saturday? Answer: Both.

Saturday, there are a few things to do with the kids. Seriously, think of someone else every now and then! If you've got a little girl, or a slightly feminine boy, take them out to Sandler Center and join the production of "Twelve Dancing Princesses" for a Princess Tea Party from Noon to 1:30. Then, the actual show goes on at 2.

Saturday night you don't want to miss local favorites Dave and Kate w/ Special Guest Rockabilly Shearin at New Moon Cafe. Stop in early for fabulous happy hour drink and appetizer specials including $2.50 wells and $1 Buds. More Happy Hour Specials listed here.

Purchase your tickets in advance (seminars are filling up quickly) for the annual Chesapeake Bay Wine Classic Foundation's Grand Tasting being held at the Virginia Beach Convention Center next Sunday (April 11). This year they are featuring a Chef Smackdown hosted by Kevin Brauch of Iron Chef America! Six local chefs will take to the stage in an exhilarating contest judged by our elite panel of judges. Purchase your tickets and sign up for seminars here:

You must also RSVP in advance for the Judeo-Christian Outreach Center's Anniversary Dinner. In case you are not familiar with the JCOC, their mission is to empower homeless families and individuals to recover from crisis situations and return to being self-supporting, productive, and independent members of our community. For $20 you can help others and enjoy great friends and a delicious supper.

Before all the partying, if you are looking for an new outfit at incredible prices stop by Double Take Consignment at Hilltop. They are offering 10% off all purchases all month long for VBNightlife members. Just mention VBnightlife to receive your discount!

Want a massage? That's right, girl. Just relax. Go ahead and take your top off ... OH FINE! I'll put in the actual deal. Tru Massage (formerly Zen Massage) is offering hour massages at $39.

I charge the same rate, but I don't wear pants when I do that either.

As always, party responsibly and tip well!
