Event Description

Still a little tired from all the St. Patty's Day celebrations? Planning on just takin' it easy this weekend? TOO BAD! We've got all kinds of other plans for you. Get your balls outta your purse, pansy.

Aaaanyway, let's go see some live music tonight. And not the kind we usually go see. The Celtic Jig Gig is tonight at The Contemporary Arts Center of Virginia, and it's probably safe to assume that the band won't be covering "Don't Stop Believing." Get there at 6:30 for the scotch tasting. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/celtic-jig-gig

Or, if sexy chicks and high energy are among your interests, head out to Garrison's Bar and Grill for the Live Your Life Loud party, sponsored by Penthouse Clear Energy Drink. There'll be exotic drinks and music from DJ K-tek. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/love-your-life-loud-1

Then, on Friday night, you can see Hotcakes at South Beach Grill. The other good news is that there are usually a bunch of hot cougars at South Beach. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/hot-cakes-south-beach-grill

If you're not at the beach, you might want to head to Buddy's Sports Pub in Chesapeake instead to see Broke by Sunday.

Friday is also time for The Virginia Aquarium's annual Taste of the Bay dinner and wine tasting. Try not to be the guy that gets bombed and falls in the stingray talk. But, if that happens, be sure to post pictures of it on VBNightlife.com.

I know what you're thinking. We never do anything but go see bands in bars. WRONG! We were just about to tell you about "The Wizard of Oz" at Chrysler Hall and Loni Love at Funny Bone. See? We're multifaceted.

IF YOU DO ONE THING THIS WEEKEND, MAKE IT THE NORFOLKNIGHTLIFE.COM SPONSORED NORFOLK ADMIRALS PUCK PUB CRAWL!!! This is gonna be awesome, and all the proceeds go to the ForKids charity. Also, it's an excuse to make bad puns all night. For example: "This is pucking awesome!", "Who do I have to puck to get a drink around here?", etc. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/norfolknightlifecom-puck-pub ;

If you really don't wanna hang out with us, though, you can go shake your ass to DJ Steve Jackson at Bugattis, or go see Dave and Kate at New Moon Cafe. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/click-here-for-saturdays-band-40

Oh, and one of the area's best traditions, the Shamrock Marathon, is going on all weekend. We're not exactly the "physical activity" type, but we'll be out there cheering you on! http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/shamrock-marathon

Next Wednesday, make time in your busy work week to meet some people and get some wine teeth. The North End Wine Club is having their monthly tasting at the Surf Club Ocean Grill at The Wyndham. Space is limited, so make a reservation by calling 757.425.5699. Details Here

As always, party responsibly and tip well!
