It will take place at Knuckleheads Ro adhouse on 401 North Witchduck Road in Virginia Beach from 1:00 p.m. t o 9 p.m.\n\nA talented musician onstage, Maniscalco has been sidelined during the past four months by health issues caused, in part, by seco nd hand smoke inhaled during his 30+ years performing in public venues . (Maniscalco never smoked himself.).\n\nThe outcome this year for Man iscalco has been a week in ICU (pneumonia) and a torn retina (four tim es). The torn retina, most likely, was caused by the high fever and/or high dose of steroids administered to fight the pneumonia. Out of wor k since late September, he is now dealing with mounting medical bills. Actually, the health situation began about one and a half years ago a nd last winter he was sidelined for about four months with the same pr oblem.\n\nThe fundraiser promises a memorable afternoon of music, danc ing and games to help pay for some of the expenses associated with Man iscalco's illness. The event will celebrate the friends, the bands and the music and the journey in the entertainment business. There will b e silent and live auctions as well as other events.\n\nThe ‘Benefit for Joe Maniscalco - Let's Keep the Music Playing' will showcase key H ampton Roads entertainers and solo, duos and bands are scheduled to pe rform throughout the afternoon.
