rimarily with ceramics to cre- ate unique narrative pieces. He works w
ith both mass-market and antique found porcelain figurines, cutting up
and exchanging elements or adding to them and repainting them, to cre
ate sculptures which are often sinister and sardonic but invariably hu
morous. With irony, he draws a portrait of our contemporary lives.\nTh
e artist’s career straddles the art and design worlds, holding commi
ssions from such giants as London’s Thorsten Van Elten and the prest
igious porcelain manu- facturer Nymphenburg. Barford has been featured
in publications such as Flaunt, Wallpaper and The New York Times Styl
e Magazine and past exhibitions include famed Design Miami, Frieze Art
Fair and International Biennale of Vallauris.\n\n\n\n\nFor more infor
