  21, at the Adam Thoroughgood House from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. To mark 
 the longest day of the year, the historic site welcomes summer with a 
 celebration reminiscent of an English Medieval Fair. Be taken back in 
 time as you watch brave knights on horseback, displays of swordplay an
 d archery and the launching of \"the Great Trebuchet,\" all presented 
 by the House DuChasse. A special activity will be the \"Human Chess Bo
 ard,\" a game once played to entertain royalty. As you search for Mids
 ummer Fairies, you may even catch a glimpse of the mystical \"Green Ma
 n,\" the true spirit of Midsummer.\n\nMidsummer has always had special
  meaning as a time to celebrate the summer solstice. It was believed t
 hat this day held magical properties and the telling of fortunes at th
 is time could correctly predict a person’s true destiny.\n\nToast Mi
 dsummer's arrival with a cup of Cuckoo's Foot Ale and make a special w
 ish by the Midsummer Bonfire. The wizard, witch and gypsy will weave t
 heir special Midsummer magic as you join the merriment and festivities
  of this traditional English event.\n\nAdmission for this special even
