DESCRIPTION:On Sunday, August 16, 2009 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Luna 
 Sea, 206 22nd St, Virginia Beach Oceanfront; the Southside Slingers wi
 ll be hosting “Battle at the Beach” to benefit Hope House Foundati
 on with a live performance from Hampton Roads favorite Jesse Chong thr
 oughout the event. The event is free and open to the public. Donations
  will be graciously accepted, but not required.\nFestivities begin wit
 h the “Bar Olympics” from 5:00pm to 8:00pm where local bars will c
 ompete in teams of five (5) where the best bar takes home the title. T
 he Olympics will include keg launches, measure pour offs, cocktail rel
 ays and bar back challenges. This competition will be particularly fun
 , because it is located on the sand volleyball court on the beach behi
 nd Luna Sea.\nThe main event is the “Flair Competition” from 8:00p
 m – 10:00pm where the Southside Slingers “flair” team will compe
 te with 16 competitors from all over the United States including Las V
 egas, California, Philadelphia and Washington D.C. Each competitor wil
 l perform their “flair” skills to benefit Hope House Foundation. E
 ach bartender will compete for top honors and move on to the national 
 competition.\nThe Southside Slingers is a group of four local bartende
 rs who began flair as a hobby using it at work to entertain their gues
 ts while making drinks. Since then, they have attending numerous compe
 titions and flair shows all over Hampton Roads, North Carolina, D.C., 
 and Vegas. The group teamed up with Hope House Foundation in June 2007
  in a joint effort to increase the awareness of their organization and
  to help a cause they hold dear to their hearts.\n\nFor more informati
