 es the sights, sounds, and smells of the Latin experience. Based on a 
 popular Latin festival in Miami, the Virginia Beach version retains th
 e key ingredients of good food, family participation, and first-rate L
 atin music.\nNational performers electrify the diverse audience with h
 igh-energy tunes that move the crowd to dance under the stars. Local a
 nd regional Latin acts (each with their own loyal fan base) take the s
 tage and unite festival-goers with the rhythms of Salsa, Merengue, and
  Jazz.\n\nLocos Por Juana, one of the hottest Latin alternative rock b
 ands in the United States, takes the stage on Friday, June 5, from 9:3
 0pm-11:00pm. This multinational Miami-based band combines infectious e
 nergy with Latin rhythms from the Caribbean and South America, as well
  as reggae, hip hop, and American funk. In December of 2008, Locos Por
  Juana was nominated for “Best Latin Rock or Alternative Album” fo
 r their album titled La Verdad.\n\nLa Excelencia Orchestra, playing Sa
 turday, June 6, from 9:45pm-11:00pm, delivers high-octane rhythms whil
 e maintaining the essence and true roots of Salsa. This New York City-
 based group showcases beautiful harmonies and powerful arrangements of
  free-flowing horns and lively percussions.\n\nAdditional activities i
 nclude the Zumba Dance Competition, in which individuals and couples c
 ompete in a variety of Latin dance styles, and the Domino Competition 
 on the Boardwalk. Both events take place on Saturday, and are open to 
 public participation.\n\nThe Hardee’s Latin Fest is a free event.\n\
