  friends, who knew that I was stricken by a severe heart attack that r
 esulted in quad bypass surgery...29 days before my health/disability b
 enefits kicked in from work. The result of which left me in a very pre
 carious spot financially. As more and more old friends signed up to pe
 rform, it made me realize that the benefit stood a good chance of brin
 ging in more than I could possibly need to get me over my rough times.
  Having played at such benefits as this in the past, for musicians tha
 t were way less fortunate than I have been, it was decided that we wou
 ld create a foundation for area musicians and their families who are h
 it by catastrophic medical events, and make this an annual event to ra
