 to settle any doubt about who the fastest bartender in town was. Over 
 nearly three decades the contest has grown far beyond the DC area havi
 ng a positive affect on thousands of people as well as dozens of good 
 causes and independent restaurants. Past contestants have returned ove
 r the years to show their support for new contestants and many restaur
 ants host contests annually adding to the prestige of the Fastest Bart
 ender title and helping to raise more money for great causes.\"\n\nA p
 ortion of the proceeds will benefit K-9 New Life ...an all breed, no-k
 ill dog rescue organization located in the Tidewater area.\n\nThe miss
 ion of K-9 New Life is to take in dogs from shelters when they have ru
 n out of time or are injured or too sick for the shelters to handle. W
 e provide them with health care, rehabilitation, training and a loving
  foster home until they can be adopted. Our focus is to give these les
 s fortunate dogs a second chance to live the happy life they deserve.
