DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, Symp
 honicity and the Virginia Stage Company\n\nCelebrate the arts with the
  whole family! Join the fun as the City of Virginia Beach Arts and Hum
 anities Commission and the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts pres
 ents its annual Kids Arts Palooza on Saturday, Jan. 16, from noon to 5
  p.m. at the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts in Virginia Beach.
  The Sandler Center is located in the Town Center of Virginia Beach, 2
 01 Market St. All the fun is free and open to the public.\n\nThe Virgi
 nia Stage Company will take the Main Stage at 12:30 p.m. with their re
 ndition of the classic fairytale, “Hansel & Gretel’s Grimm Tale.
  This show is suitable for children of all ages. Symphonicity will ta
 ke the Main Stage at 3:15 p.m. with their popular Lollipop Concert, 
 It’s Raining Music,” featuring music about weather with special g
 uest, local WAVY News 10 meteorologist Don Slater! This performance is
  recommended for children in grades K-6. Sign language interpretation 
 will be provided by Mindy Brown & Company for these performances.\n\nN
 o reservation or ticket is required and all performances are free and 
 open to the public.\n\nOther activities throughout the day will furthe
 r entertain children as well as adults. Visitors will delight in speci
 al performances by Krendl the Magician, hands-on children’s art acti
 vities, strolling costumed characters, balloon sculptures, and much mo
 re! Sample entertainment from local arts and humanities organizations 
 as visitors learn more about all the cultural finds in Hampton Roads. 
 Join us as the arts unite in a day filled with excitement, creativity,
  and lots of family fun!\n\nThe Contemporary Art Center of Virginia wi
 ll entertain children of all ages with a puppet-making activity based 
 on the characters of Maurice Sendak’s best-selling book, “Where th
 e Wild Things Are.” Be sure to attend this fun, creative activity!\n
 \nStudents from Salem High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Acade
 my will also join the celebration by demonstrating and presenting thro
 ughout the day. Students from the Academy’s Vox Harmonia, National D
 ance Honor Society and the Steel Drum Band will be on hand for mini-pe
 rformances and interaction.\n\nJoin us as the arts unite in a day fill
