DESCRIPTION:The Mayor will honor the Right On Band, a Virginia Beach-b
 ased musical group, by proclaiming Sunday, Aug. 9 as “Right On Band 
 Day.” A special ceremony will precede the band’s performance slate
 d for 6 p.m. at Neptune Park, 31st at the oceanfront. The event and co
 ncert are free and open to the public.\n\n“The Right On Band has hel
 ped put Virginia Beach on the map in the musical arena,” said Mayor 
 William D. Sessoms, Jr. “This group has played at several presidenti
 al inaugurations and balls, as well as events like New Year’s Eve at
  Times Square. We’re thrilled to celebrate their success by proclaim
 ing Aug. 9 as Right On Band Day.”\n\nThe Right On Band was formed in
  1997 by Michael Fafard. Band members held their first performance at 
 the Virginia Beach oceanfront and have since traveled the world. Known
  in the music industry as “The World’s Greatest Show Band,” the 
 group’s repertoire includes hits from the 1970s and 1980s, along wit
