DESCRIPTION:Virginia Beach Court Appointed Special Advocates, Inc.\n\n
 In Virginia Beach alone, over 1,000 cases of child abuse and neglect a
 re substantiated each year. Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) i
 s a dedicated group of volunteers, assigned by judges to provide a vit
 al voice for those too young to speak for themselves during the compli
 cated maze of legal proceedings.\n\nCASA volunteers are members of the
  community who receive extensive education and training in order to ad
 vocate for children- who through no fault of their own - are thrust in
 to juvenile and domestic relations court and often, into foster care. 
 CASA volunteers watch over and advocate for these children to make sur
 e they don't get lost in an overburdened system. Their ultimate respon
 sibility is to promote safe, permanent homes for abused and neglected 
 children.\n\nIt is slow, painstaking, and incredibly challenging work,
  but one child at a time, CASA volunteers are making a difference in o
