Event Description

Ben Taylor headlines the 3rd annual Sea Level Singer/Songwriter Festival's kick-off concert at the Naro.

Of his 2003 debut album, a Rolling Stone reviewer wrote, "There's a translucence to Taylor's songs that is rare in today's folk rock. Famous Among the Barns grows stronger and deeper, with repeated listens. And that has nothing to do with his lineage."

It's a lineage that's about as famous as they come in folk-rock: Ben Taylor's parents are James Taylor and Carly Simon.

That impressive heritage can be heard in his music, "but he’s no copycat," said The Daily Grommet last year, writing about Taylor's latest album, Kung Folk."As a singer-songwriter, he has his own updated sound, style and contribution to make. After traveling the world and training in martial arts, he says Kung Folk reflects his personal, hybridized style. There’s both humor and honesty in his single 'Wicked Way,' for example, which has been buzzed about since Benjamin’s lusty new video for the song was released this summer."

See for yourself what the buzz is all about Thursday, Aprill 8. Local favorite/recording artist Julie Clark opens the show. Get your tickets online at http://twartsoutreach.org/.
