Event Description

Shhh ... It's ok, baby. The work week's almost over. You're gonna get through this.

Actually, no need to get through it. Let's just start the weekend right now. And here's a time-saving tip for when you're getting ready to go out: drink beer in the shower.

Beach Music Weekend kicks off tonight at the 30th Street Stage on the beach. The event will put a new spin on the sounds of the oldies, and feature tons of food and beer! It's all weekend and all the performances are free and open to the public. We recommend inviting your parents, and you can laugh as they show you what dance floors used to look like. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/beach-music-weekend-30th

Friday night, trumpeter Chris Botti is playing at Sandler Center. His smooth, jazzy style will definitely get the night headed in the right direction. Also, I bet that dude gets tons of booty, after the ladies see those lips in action. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/chris-botti-trumpet

If you're looking for a more rockin' sound, we suggest Gridlock 64 at South Beach Grill. They play a blend of originals and covers, and dabble in a wide spectrum of genres. Seems like a good excuse to take your shirt off and throw up the devil horns. But hey, maybe that's just us. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/gridlock-64-south-beach-grill

Are you looking for something ADORABLE to do on Saturday? Then we got you covered. The K-9 Carnival is going down at Red Wing Park. There will be a dog show, contests, a rabies shot clinic, and a movie showing. It's a perfect place to bring the kiddies, to make up for being too hungover to make breakfast. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/k9-karnival

Or if you don't like dogs (or kids) you can check out Neptune's Spring Wine Festival. You can sample over 75 wines and see live performances from B-3 Fusion and Borderline Crazy. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/neptunes-spring-wine-festival

If you can still stand up after that, you can check out Dave and Kate at New Moon or get your grind on while Andy Kim DJs at Sky Bar (Now open... weather permitting). Actually, just for fun, get your grind on at both. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/dave-and-kate-the-new-moon http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/andy-kim-deejaying-live-sky-1

On Sunday, take the fam to the Free Family Fest at The Contemporary Arts Center of Virginia. You can get everyone in free to see "Where the Wild Things Are: Maurice Sendak in His Own Words and Pictures," and there will be art activities and refreshments. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/free-family-fest-at-the

Then, local favorite Butter is playing at the 7th Street Stage, between Mahi Mah's and Chix. If you only knew them as a cover band, you need to give them another listen. http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/butter-7th-street-stage-2

Then on Wednesday, The North End Wine Club is hosting the last tasting before summer. Yes, sadly, tourist season is about to pick up again. Come drown your sorrows in wine and replace them with smiles! There will be wines from all over the world, and $15 at the door gets you unlimited wine tasting and food! http://www.vbnightlife.com/events/north-end-wine-club-wine

As always, party responsibly and tip well!
